Adeline "Addie" Brecker, 98, of Asheville passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the John F. Keever Jr., Solace Center in Asheville. Born September 14, 1918 in Stephens Point, WI, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Julia Altman. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Owen Brecker. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, and was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star, District 26. She was a prior resident of Ardenwoods Retirement Community, and had previously resided in Key West, FL. Addie was an avid reader and a talented artist who preferred to paint wildlife and landscapes in acrylics. Surviving are her 13 year Yorkie companion, O.B., and her special friend of many years, Laura Grace of Asheville. In keeping with Addie's wishes, no services will be held at this time.
