As a student at UNCA in the early 70s, I found Dean Wutschel to be warm and insightful, genuinely interested in each and every student. She is definitely a lady that I never forgot. My condolences to the family.

My love to all the Wutchels. Alice was the kindest person I've ever met. She always made you feel like you were the most interesting person in the world, and she really listened. I loved her progressive politics, her fight for women's rights and equality for all, and her constant friendship with my mom. Although I was older than all of the kids, and missed out on most of the St. Eugene's get-togethers I felt the closeness of our families throughout the years. She will always be in my heart.
