Beverly Cole Passmore, 65, of Candler passed away peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2017 at the John F. Keever Jr., Solace Center in Asheville with her family by her side. Born on August 25, 1951 in Buncombe County, she was a daughter of Lillie Hutchison Cole of Candler and the late Furman Cole Jr. She was a graduate of Enka H.S. class of 1969, and was a member of Spirit Life Church in Candler. After 12 years of service with the Buncombe County Sheriff's Department, she retired due to medical reasons. She believed that life was what you made of it and tried to live hers to the fullest. Among the many enjoyments of life, she enjoyed being active in her church and working with Prison Ministries. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her siblings: Gary Cole and his spouse, Nancy, of Orangeburg, SC, and Brenda Reese of Banner Elk; four nieces and nephews; her chosen extended family: Pamela Camp and her spouse, Edward, of Asheville, Beverly Bell of Asheville, Lisa Wallen and her spouse, Ken, of Candler, Joyce Soesbee of Arden, Judy Ward and her spouse, Richard, of Anderson, SC, Joy Davis and her spouse, Reece, of Pendleton, SC, and Susan Lambert of Woodfin, and her beloved canine companions, Hutch Lit Bit and Joey. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Snow Hill UMC Cemetery in Candler.
