Charles Calvin “Charlie” Rowe, Jr. of Hickory, died November 17th, 2017 at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville at the age of 69.

A native and lifelong resident of Hickory, he was born April 16th, 1948 to the late Charles Calvin Rowe, Sr. and Vergie Cline Rowe. In addition to his parents, Charlie is preceded in death by his sister, Vickie Stephens.

Charlie served in the US Army in Vietnam. He was a talented musician and avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, and fishing. He was a great cook, and valued the simple pleasures of life. Charlie loved his family. His loving personality helped to make his mark on everyone he met.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Kathy Rowe of the home; children, Kevin Rowe, Sara Rowe, Erin Buff, and Shannon Friedman; siblings, Marcia Rowe, Terri Ashe, and Jimmy Rowe; and 9 grandchildren, Damien Smith, Caden Buff, Chandler Rowe, Emerie Elizabeth Rowe, Eli Jackson Rowe, Chelsea Friedman, Mary-Rachel Friedman, Alek Friedman, and Gracie Friedman.
