Dr. Maria Josefa Moyano, 85, of Weaverville, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017 in the comfort of her home. Dr. Moyano was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Moyano and Maria Antonia Rivera Moyano; and a brother, Juan Antonio Moyano. Dr. Moyano earned her degree in psychiatry from the University of Madrid, in Madrid, Spain. She worked for the Binghamton Psychiatric Center and private practice clinics in Binghamton, NY where she lived. She loved her dogs, and her cat. Dr. Moyano was a member of St. Eugene Catholic Church. Survivors include her daughter, Ana Gomez of Weaverville; brother, Bruno (Olga) Moyano of Jacksonville, FL; sister-in-law, Ana Gomez Uria of Madrid, Spain; nieces, Sara, Annette, Aida, Liza, Linda, Chickie, and Mari; nephew, David; and a special cousin, Norma (Rizal) of Royal Palm Beach, FL. A memorial mass will held 3:00PM Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at St. Eugene Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Madison Home Health and Hospice. The family would like to thank the staff of Madison Home Health and Hospice for their wonderful care and support.
