Edna Pate Jarvis, 71, of Asheville passed away Saturday December 23, 2017 at the JF Keever Solace Center in Asheville. Born and raised in Burnsville, NC she moved to Asheville at 17 years old to pursue a cosmetology career. She married Garrett Jarvis and was married for 49 years until his death on May 11, 2017. Edna was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Surviving her in death are Barbara Pate Smith and her husband, Dave Smith, of Rhode Island. Edna’s children; Jennifer Jarvis, Gary Jarvis, daughter-in-law; Ashley, six grandchildren, a niece and nephew and their families, all of Asheville.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Baptist Church on December 31, 2017 beginning at 1:30 pm. A visitation will follow the service.  Officiating will be Pastor Allen Rash, Allen Winebarger, Jerry Payne and Donnie Walker. Interment will be at Pate Cemetery in Burnsville at a later date.
