Edward Anton Paucek, 96, passed away peacefully in his sleep Thursday September 7th, 2017.  He enjoyed a rich and long life. He was a respected World War II Veteran, devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Edward is survived by his son, Edward Paucek (Ellie); daughter, Kim Haley; sister, Lillian Hartmann; grandchildren, Shantel Braman (Chris), Shaun Findlan, Patrick Haley, Edward Paucek, Mark Ethan (Stephanie), Madeline Castro, and Christopher Paucek (Gabrielle); and great grandchildren Noah Paucek, Henry Paucek, Isabelle Braman and Christian Braman.

            Edward spent a lot of time living in the North Carolina mountains, but most of all, he shared his love for and took great care of his best friend and wife, Anna Margaret "Marge" Stetzenbach, whom he is now reunited with in Heaven. Edward and Marge got married on November 1, 1941. He and his siblings were brought up in the tavern business. The tavern, known as "Ma's Place", was owned by Josephine Paucek. Edward enlisted in the service after Pearl Harbor was bombed and served the duration of World War II. Upon his return to the tavern businesses, Ed and Marge re-located from Milwaukee, WI to Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 1960 for Ed to start work at a city wide insulation company called AAA Insulation. He remained in that industry until retirement and in turn exposed his son and daughter to the construction/business industry. Ed and Marge also spent part of their time enjoying their summer home in Robbinsville, NC. Aside from the tavern and entertainment business, Edward also enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, movies and acting, and charitable projects. He was a veracious reader and especially liked westerns and history. He was involved in a few fraternal organizations; Odd Fellows, Moose Club, Elks Lodge and the Am Vets.

            Ed was like a father to many and a friend to more who was and still is special to all of us because of his spark for life, how he would light up a room when he walked in, his ability to put smiles on peoples' faces and make people laugh as well as always bringing out the best in everyone he met. He served our country proud, became a successful businessman, and will always be remembered for his love for the action of living life to the fullest and the love he shared for his family. He is held in our hearts forever and will be missed by many, but never forgotten.

            Edward's family will receive friends on Friday, September 29, 2017 at St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church, 200 N. University Drive, Plantation, FL 33324 with a short funeral mass at 11:30am. In addition, a memorial service will be held at the cabin in Robbinsville, NC during the summer.
