Esther Mary “Meemaw” Barton Sharp, 85, passed away on July 11, 2017. She was born on March 25, 1932 in Warren, MI to Mary Haley Barton and Ernest M. Barton.

Esther was a wonderful mom and meemaw to all her children, grandchild and great-grandchildren. She loved to play bingo, going to Camp Dogwood and was a devoted Detroit Tiger fan.

Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Sharp.

She is survived by her daughter Debra (Danny) Roberts of Marshall, NC; sons Dale (Janet) Sharp of Asheville, NC; and Terry Sharp of Asheville, NC. Esther also leaves behind granddaughter Crystal Bridges Russell of Marshall, NC; great-grandchildren Jessica, Julia, Brian and Cole, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Esther will be buried beside her husband at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery in Leicester, NC.

The family would like to thank everyone at Memorial Mission Hospital for their superb care during this time of great loss. Also, a special thank you to Dr. David Clements and staff at Carolina Internal Medicine for their excellent care over many years.
