Florence Maie (Howell) Finnegan

Florence Maie Howell Finnegan, age 75, passed away on February 28, 2018. She was born July 21, 1942 in Camden, Arkansas to Samuel Wesley Howell and Ila Ruth Ferebee Howell. Florence also has two sisters, Sharon Byrd and Samra Childers. She attended Pacifica High School in San Bernardino, California before receiving a B.A. in English from Pfeiffer College in Misenheimer, North Carolina.  During her lifetime Florence worked as a teacher and was also the director of the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Coos Bay, Oregon. She enjoyed knitting as well as volunteer work, particularly with Voice of the Martyrs. She was also a member of the Greenacres Community Church in Oregon and Carr’s Hills Baptist Church in Brevard, NC.

Florence is survived by her spouse of 52 year, Lance Finnegan. They have two children, Kathleen Finnegan Blackshear, who is married to Bret W. Blackshear, and William L. Finnegan, who is married to Alejandra M. Finnegan. She is also cherished by her 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Florence is to be buried in Stockton, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Voice of the Martyrs in Bartlesville, OK.
