Glenda Gail Maston, 80, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 with her husband and children by her side at Pardee Memorial Hospital.

Glenda was born on September 5, 1937, to the late Elmo and Mary Cornelia James.  She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. 

Glenda was a highly proficient administrative assistant, first at Acme Boot Company in Clarksville, TN, and later for more than 30 years at Christ Clarion Presbyterian Church in Pittsford, NY, where she faithfully served seven pastors.  However, her primary interest was in caring for her husband and their three sons, which she did with great love, skill, and tenacity.  Glenda’s quiet but strong presence and gentleness attracted people of all ages to her, and she enriched their lives by being a supportive friend in every circumstance.  She was lovingly nicknamed, “The Good Witch”.

Three years after her marriage in 1966, Glenda left Clarksville, TN, and made homes in Pittsburgh, PA, Irvine, CA, and Pittsford, NY, before she and her husband, Frank, retired to Hendersonville, NC, in 2015.  Together they enjoyed visits to most of the larger cities in the United States as well as to several European capitals.  Glenda was comfortable in all social situations, and she happily interacted with persons of every background.

Glenda leaves behind Frank Richard Maston Jr., her husband of 51 years, and three sons, Kevin Martin Maston, Jay Bryan Maston, and Frank Richard Maston, III.  She had four grandchildren, Michael, Sean, Ryder, and Margaret, and two great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Logan. She is also survived by her beloved sisters Paulette Francis and Judi DeBow, and dear brother Michael Jenkins.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, March 10, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Hendersonville, with Dr. Mark Stanley officiating.
