Hobert Garrett Jarvis Jr. passed away on May 11, 2017 at the Valor Hospice Center, he was 78 years old. He was the son of the late Hobert and Pearl Mullinax Jarvis. Garrett was a licensed plumber and a roofer for 38 years with Wells & West Inc. in Murphy, NC. Garrett served three years in the United States Army. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church on Shelburne Road in Asheville.

Garrett is survived by his wife of 49 years, Edna Pate Jarvis; daughter, Jennifer; son, Gary and his wife Ashley; six grandchildren, Jordan, Isaiah, Lilly, Eli, Evan and Easton. He also leaves behind his brother, Arnold and sister-in-law, Pat; nephew, Darren; niece, Janet; his favorite cousin, Geraldine Pritchard; friends, Charles West, John Pendergrass, Conley West, and his dear friends at Discount Shoes.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday May 20, 2017 at Trinity Baptist Church with Pastors Donnie Walker, Alan Rash, and Jerry Payne officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be an hour prior to service, beginning at 1:00 PM.   

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Trinity Baptist Cancer Support Group in care of Pat Johnson or to the AB-Tech Culinary Department Scholarship fund.
