Juna Faye "June" Henderson

Juna Faye “June” Swindle Henderson, 80, passed away at her home on Glenn Church Lane in the Little Switzerland Community on September 20, 2017.

 

Juna was born July 6, 1937 in Dover, FL to the late Walter and Winnie Perdue Swindle. She was a resident of Spruce Pine for 34 years.

 

Juna graduated from Turkey Creek High School in Plant City, FL. She worked in stock exchange in Tampa, FL and was also the co-owner of the General Wrecker Service also located in Tampa, FL. Being of devoted Christian faith, she enjoyed church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music, her family, traveling, sewing, cross-stitching, cooking, home making, and being a mom, wife, and grandmother.

 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Henderson Jr.; brothers: Delmar Ray, Leonard Jasper, Guy Hillous, and Harold C.; and sisters, Ruby Bell, Alma Jean, and Viola May.

 

She leaves behind her daughter, Marjorie Kelley Pearson of Spruce Pine, NC; son-in-law, Kenneth Lee Pearson of Spruce Pine, NC; granddaughter, Krishelle Leigh Pearson of Spruce Pine, NC; nephews: Butch Whiteside, David Swindle, Ricky Swindle, Harvey “Skipper” Leonard Hartline, Alan Lloyd Hartline, Walter “Buddy” Ezell Davis, Robert Wesley Davis, and William James Davis; and nieces: Patricia Ann Thomas, Linda Joyce Gardener, Sheryl Swindle, and Sharon Jean Davis.

 

Services are entrusted to Asheville Mortuary Services and online condolences may be made at www.ashevillemortuaryservices.com. 

 

A celebration of life will be held at Juna’s home for close friends and family at a later date.

The family would like to thank friends, neighbors, private caregivers, Hospice in Mitchell County, and Carolina Home Health for their love, care, support, and friendship as Juna battled Parkinson’s disease. She taught us true strength, she was a strong and loving woman and an inspiration to everyone who knew her.
