Margaret Parker Johnson, 69, of Candler, North Carolina, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday October 28, 2017. A native of Sylva, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Elbert Lee and Latrelle Merck Parker. Margaret enjoyed gardening, feeding the birds and squirrels in the backyard and was always so proud of her flowers. Margaret spent most of her life working in the bookkeeping and accounting fields with various companies around the Asheville area. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son Mark Nicholson, her sister Carolyn McCoy and 3 brothers; Douglas, Kenneth and Howard Parker.

She is survived by her loving husband James Johnson, her sister Glynda Chambers of Hendersonville, two brothers, Jerry Parker of Bryson City and Farrell Parker of Cedar Mountain, Stepson Brian Johnson & Family of New Orleans, Louisiana and Grandson Thomas Nicholson of Charleston, West Virginia.

There will be a private graveside ceremony scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital www.stjude.org
