Marilou Parker Schriber, 86, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC. Born on August 28, 1930, she was a native of Central Florida. Marilou taught Secretarial Science and Home Economics in TN and FL at the High School and College level. She and husband, John, retired in 1983 and moved to Fletcher, NC. They attended the Fletcher Seventh-day Adventist Church for 29 years. She later moved to Mills River to live with her daughter, Kathleen. She was known for her exceptional vegetarian cooking, hospitality and volunteer work. Marilou is preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Lucile Parker, as well as her husband, John Schriber. Surviving Marilou are her daughters, Janice Schriber of Orlando, FL; Kathleen Tallos (Terry) of Mills River, NC; sisters, Jackie Stone of Cape Coral, FL; Nancy Parker of fletcher, NC; Anna Mae Houghtaling of Spencer, Iowa; grandchildren, Timothy Jonathan, Benjamin and Daniel. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 3:30pm at the Mills River Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Ralph Henderson officiating.
