Martha Ann McIntyre Goode, 69, of Flat Rock, died June 14, 2017 at Four Seasons Elizabeth House.

A native of Rutherford County, Martha was born November 27, 1947 a daughter of the late Bennie Quinn McIntyre and Mary Sue Lovelace McIntyre. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Galven Vaughn; brother, Jerry “Dempsey” McIntyre; niece, Loretta E. McIntyre; and father-in-law, Morris Goode.

Martha was a caregiver to all. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Martha loved to cook for everyone and make her home a welcoming place to all. She also enjoyed reading. She was a member of Mills River Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of 17 years, Morris “Steve” Goode; sons, Rick Galvan of Berlin, CT; step-daughter, Angela Wilson (Gene) of Asheboro; sisters, Bennie Sue Mitchell of Hendersonville, and Trudy Fancher of Hendersonville; brothers, Steve A. McIntyre (Sylvia) of Little River, SC, and Benny McIntyre (Serene) of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Anthony Vaughn, Holden Vaughn, Marcus Ingle, Logan W. Galvan, Tyler J. Galvan, Paige Wilson, and Patrick Wilson; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Kailee Vaughn; and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the graveside at Whitaker and Moore Cemetery in Mills River Saturday, June 17 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Donald Hare, Rev. Ricky Harris, and Rev. Thomas Gleen officiating.

In lieu of flowers, Martha requests donations be made to Four Seasons Elizabeth House or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

The family would like to extend a special thank you for the loving kindness and care shown to Martha, her family, and her friends by everyone at Park Ridge Hospital and the Elizabeth House, which have left a loving memory for all of us at such a sad time.
