Patricia Hitchcock Broadfoot Stewart, 87, of Black Mountain, passed away November 7, 2017 at Givens Highland Farms.
Born March 15, 1930 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Marguerite Hitchcock. In addition to her parents, she is preceeded in death by her daughter, Bevan Margaret Broadfoot; late husband, Henry Bryan Broadfoot, Jr.; and late second husband, Lloyd Thomas Stewart.
Patricia had lived in Virginia as well as Montana, in addition to New York City before moving to Black Mountain in 1972. She was a graduate of the College of William and Mary with a degree in history. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Black Mountain. Patricia loved to volunteer at the Depot, Seven Sisters, and at the Black Mountain Town Hall. She was one of the original members and founders of the Black Mountain Croquet Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Cheeves Broadfoot of Black Mountain; grandchildren, Brittany Anne Young (Cody) of Weaverville, Emily Fate Dover of Black Mountain, and Michael Bryan Dover of Asheville; great-grandchildren, Marjorie Fagan, and Brayin Mason; and several surviving cousins in Florida and North Carolina
A private service will be held by the family.
