Mills River

Patsy Waters Sexton, 74, of Mills River and formerly of Brevard passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert Lee Waters and Burndeen Waters Elliott. Patsy is survived by her loving husband Jim of 24 years; sister Jane Walls of Gainesville, GA; daughters, Lynne Clary Hampton of Hendersonville, NC, Beth Clary Landreth (Patrick) of Pisgah Forest, NC,  Cristie A. Sexton (Fabiola Ponce Ehlers-Zavala) of Fort Collins, CO, and Julie S. Smithey (Robert) of Burlington, NC; and grandchildren Logan H. Sales of Pisgah Forest, NC, Ansley E. Sales of Pisgah Forest, NC, Taylor L. Sales of Pisgah Forest, NC, and James “Jack” R. Smithey of Burlington, NC.

Patsy graduated from Gainesville High School and attended Brenau College. She spent the majority of her career as a mortgage loan officer at Brevard Federal Savings and Loan Association. Patsy was a member and former Elder of Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church. Patsy was an avid gardener who also loved Georgia Bulldog football.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 30 at 11 AM at Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Keith Thompson officiating, with a reception immediately following.
