Ralph Howard Haney, 81, passed away at home on January 3, 2018. He was a 30 year resident of Old Fort. Ralph was born on July 19, 1936 to George and Bertha Rickman Haney in Black Mountain, NC. Mr. Haney was raised by his aunt, Price Rickman. In addition to his parents and aunt, he is preceded in death by his siblings Jean Crompton, Sandra Grey, Sarah Haney, Flym Haney and Ruth Valentine. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching western shows. Ralph is survived by his children Jeff Haney (Barbara), Tracey Ivey, and Deborah Toomey (Patrick); stepson William Ford (Jennifer);  siblings Steve Haney, Bud Haney, John Haney, Ann Knight and Kay Bartlett; grandchildren Maya Ivers, Cherish Ivey, Ian Toomey, Taryn Toomey, Caman Bridgman, Kristin Rankin, Collin Ford, Erin Ward, Laura Haney and Cole Ford; and nine great-grandchildren.
