Ronald Edmond Gosnell, 76, of Arden, passed away December 28th, 2017 at Mission Hospital’s Heart Tower in Asheville.

Mr. Gosnell was a son of the late Donald E. Gosnell and Pearl C. Gosnell. He was a native of Leicester and resident of Buncombe County his entire life. He was a member of His Gates Church where he served on the leadership team. Ron loved God’s creation and being outside to enjoy the beauty of God’s work. He loved working on landscape gardening and dry stack stone work. He enjoyed nature by taking daily walks, discovering new plants, or just sitting on the deck admiring the beauty of nature. Ron enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, and had a creative nature which he displayed in landscaping, painting, and other projects. He enjoyed a variety of music. Ron loved animals and was always on the lookout for abused animals. His special pet was Daisy. He was giving, caring, and compassionate.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Elaine H. Gosnell of the home; children, Stephanie D. Gosnell of Arden, and Michael S. Gosnell of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Larry Gosnell (Frances) of Harrisburg; grandson, Joel B. Carr, III of Boulder, CO; nieces, Jill Gosnell and her 2 children of Harrisburg, and Kelly Gosnell and her daughter of Harrisburg.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Monday, January 1, 2018 at His Gates Church, 3754 Brevard Rd., #101, Horse Shoe, NC 28742, with Pastor John Harris officiating.
