William "Bill" Sevier Morgan Sr., 86, of Candler passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville. Born on November 25, 1930 in Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Wilson Morgan and Delano Conley Morgan. He was a graduate of Candler H.S. class of 1950, and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In 1991, he retired from B.A.S.F., but then continued employment with the Biltmore Estates until the early 2000's. Bill could always find himself at home in the great outdoors whether he was fishing, hunting, or just relaxing. He was a member of Hominy Baptist Church in Candler, and was devoted to his Lord, family, and dogs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Joseph "Bud" Morgan and Charles Morgan. Surviving are his loving spouse of 66 years, Pauline Arledge Morgan, children: "Billy" Morgan Jr. and his spouse, Donna, Mike Morgan and his spouse, Christine, all of Candler, and Mark Morgan and his spouse, Adriene, of Lexington, SC, sisters-in-law: Gail and Liesel Morgan, and grandchildren: Stephanie Morgan, Matthew Morgan and his spouse, Melissa, Alex Morgan, and Kelly Morgan. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Hominy Baptist Church in the Family Life Center.
