Wolfgang H. Fischer, 91, of Flat Rock, passed away June 30, 2017 at Four Seasons Elizabeth House. Born May 7, 1926 in Amstadt, Thuringia, Germany, he was the son of the late Elizabeth Baumann. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his sister, Thea Mayntz. Mr. Fischer received his Diploma of Technische Hochschule Darmstadt, Fakultaet fuer Elektrotechnik in 1959, and later worked for the US Government in Fort Monmouth, NJ. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Herma Fischer nee Valentin; son, Ron C. Fischer and wife, Taline, of Mechanicsville, VA; and granddaughter, Valentina. A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Richmond, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Four Seasons Elizabeth House, 581 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
