Gary Albert Bott

Gary Albert Bott of Cullowhee, North Carolina, passed on March 18, 2024. Born August 25, 1951, to the late Glen Dean Bott and Mary Margaret Price in Omaha, Nebraska, Gary was seventy-two years old.

            Gary loved his animals, home and family. He enjoyed nature, reading, building things and helping others. Gary graduated from Dana College in Nebraska with a Bachelor of Biology and Physical Education, and a Teaching Certification. He worked as a biology teacher, then as a master carpenter. Gary was an avid golfer and athlete. He coached and played baseball, football and basketball.

            Gary is survived by his wife, Amy Bott, to whom he was married thirty-seven years; children, Kayla Bott, Eric Eigner and Jonathan Eigner; siblings, Glenna Spomer (Dwayne), Steve Bott (Sharon) and Dean Bott (Dana); and a large extended family with many nieces and nephews whom he adored. He was preceded in death by his beloved niece Tammi Lee Spomer, his grandparents Albert and Martha Bott and Myrtle Lee and Carl V. Odin, and Cameron Parsons. 

            Gary was a strong, reliable man who is loved by many and will be deeply missed. He provided a sense of safety and comfort to all who knew him.
