Anthony “Tony” Nicholas Cucinella, 81, passed away on July 24, 2017 at the Charles George Veterans Medical Center. A native of New Orleans, LA; he was the son of the late Nicholas and Anna Bendich Cucinella. In addition to his parents, Tony was also preceded in death by his aunt, Pauline B. Allen and uncle Mike Bendich, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Cucinella of Swannanoa, NC; son, Jeff Cucinella of Beaufort, SC; daughters, Monique Lewis and Jeanne Cucinella, both of Slidell, LA, sister Diane (Leo) Sanchez; cousin Col. Mike Bendich; four grandchildren, three great- grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other extended family that he loved dearly. Tony was a veteran of the United States Navy SeaBees for 30 years. He served 2 years in Vietnam and earned the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Naval Reserve Meritorious Service, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Navy Unit Commendation, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Combat action Ribbon, M-16 Expert and M-16 Sharpshooters. Tony was a loving, caring husband, father and brother. His presence will be greatly missed.

Services will be held on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Western Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC.
