Arild Johnsen, 55, passed away on June 10, 2018 at Solace House in Asheville, NC.
Arild was born April 26, 1963 in Lillestrom, Norway to Jan Hartvick Johnsen and Else Rustad. He lived and worked around the world, including Ithaca, NY, Trondheim, NO and Oslo, NO. Arild attended NTNU (Norges naturvitenskapelige universitet) where he earned a Masters in Sociology and Marine Engineering. He later received his doctorate in Change Process Theory from NTNU and Cornell University and worked as a Senior Researcher. He also served in the Norwegian Navy and was a founding member of the Motorpsycho band. In his free time, Arild enjoyed traveling, writing and cooking with friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jan. He is survived by his mother, Else, who still lives in Lillestrom, NO; his wife of nearly ten years, Lisa Berry; his daughter, Ingvild Johnsen of Trondhein, NO, Son, Jarand Johnsen of Trondhein, NO, and step-daughter, Mikayla Berry of Ithaca, NY; as well as all his extended family in the US and Norway.
A service will be held at Solace Center, 21 Belvedere Rd, Asheville, NC, on June 17 @ 2:30pm. Charlene Galvin will be officiating.
