Billy Greene Obituary

Jack Greene, 87, a Swannanoa resident of 20 years, passed away on December 26, 2018 at the Solace Center. He was born on August 8, 1931 in Spruce Pine, Mitchell County, NC to Clarence Greene and Willie Levada Greene. In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph, Virgil, Bob, and Buster; and his sister, Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Edith Marie Wood Greene; daughters, Amy Davis of Canton and Jennifer Banner (Larry) of Black Mountain; brother, Carroll Greene of Spruce Pine; grandchildren, Billy Wilson (Natalia) of Asheville, Taylor and Preston Banner of Black Mountain; and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins in Spruce Pine and Shelby, NC.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 26th at 2:00 PM at Pine Branch Baptist Church at 48 Church Road Spruce Pine, NC 28777. His nephew, Bobby Greene, will officiate.
