Cheryl Marcia Schwartz Rice, 69, of Clyde, NC went to be with the Lord on August 29, 2017. Born January 3, 1948 to the late Sophie London Schwartz and William “Bill” Schwartz. Reared and educated in New York and Massachusetts, she moved to Western North Carolina in 1973 and lived in Haywood County since 2001. Cheryl was known for her kindness, quick wit and generosity, she will also be remembered for her assertiveness, making things happen and vivacious approach to life. Cheryl is survived by her husband of 44 years, L.C. Rice of Clyde, NC; sons Seth L. Rice of Richmond, VA; David J. Rice of Greenville, SC; granddaughter Lily H. Rice of Waynesville, NC; sister Merle Green of Barrington, RI and brother, Howard Schwartz of Coco, FL. She also leaves behind 2 nieces and 2 nephews. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Cove Creek Baptist Church 1397 Cove Creek Road Waynesville, NC 28785 (I-40 West exit 20)
