    Clyde “Henry” Sizemore, 72, of Flat Rock, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the Elizabeth House.

    Henry was born in Henderson County, North Carolina on September 25, 1945 to the late Arsula Morgan and William Wright Sizemore. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hendersonville. Henry retired from United States Army after twenty two years of faithful service. During the Vietnam conflict, he was a two time recipient of The Purple Heart and received The Bronze Star for “Valor.” Henry was a strong advocate of senior citizens through the Henderson County Council on Aging. He loved his grandchildren and his nieces and nephews dearly. He will be greatly missed.

    Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of fourteen years, Lisa Goldsmith Sizemore of Flat Rock; a daughter, Lori Hilyer of Fletcher; a brother, Jerry Sizemore and wife Carolyn of Mars Hill; a sister, Debbie Barnwell of Hendersonville; a grandson, William Harris Hilyer; a granddaughter, Margot Elizabeth Hilyer, both of Fletcher; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

    A service of remembrance will be held at a later date.
