Curtis Ellis Ellingson, 85, passed away on August 28, 2019 at his home in Lake Lure, NC. He was born July 28, 1934, in Dubuque, IA to Ellis Mylo and Helen Gertrude Ellingson.
Curtis lived several places in the United States, most recently moved from Pembroke Pines, Fl to Lake Lure, NC where he and JoAnne have lived for over 13 years. He had a B. S. in Engineering from Iowa State University and served in the United States Army. He was an Episcopalian, and in his free time Curtis enjoyed woodworking, reading, and singing.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy, and son, Steven.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Joanne Hornberger Ellingson; daughters Connie (Robert) Bajek of Beavercreek, OH, Wendy (Jack) Kurtz of Statham, GA, and Stacy (John) Giangaspro of Jacksonville, FL; grandsons Eddie Bajek of Jacksonville, FL, David (Monica) Bajek of Oak Park, IL, Max Bajek of Cincinnati, OH, Riley Ellingson of Raleigh, NC and Anthony Giangaspro of Jacksonville, FL; and granddaughters Mallory Ellingson of New Haven, CT, Hannah Giangaspro of Spartanburg, SC and Meredith Giangaspro of Jacksonville, FL,
A service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 2:00PM at The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, located at 106 Saylor Lane, Bat Cave, NC 28710. Reception will follow. Reverend Mickey Mugan will be presiding.
