Danny Neal Burrell

    Danny Neal Burrell, 69, of Statesville, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

     Danny was born in Asheville, North Carolina, on June 29, 1949, to the late John Albert Burrell and Hazel Winifred Wooten Burrell. For thirteen years, he served his country proudly in the United States Air Force, including service in Vietnam. Danny enjoyed playing music and singing. He was an avid golfer and bowler. Danny’s favorite place was Panama City Beach, Florida. He will be greatly missed.

     In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Burrell, Sr. and Gerald Burrell; and two sisters, Peggy Davis and Barbara Dean Patterson.

     Those left to cherish his memory include a daughter, Wendy Wilson and husband Eric of Statesville; two sisters, Sylvia Waters of Lafayette, Georgia and Joyce Bradley of Asheville; a grandson, Dakota Burrell of Statesville; a granddaughter, Alissha Cortes of Statesville; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.

     A graveside memorial service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain.
