Deborah Stein Leggat, 74, of Asheville, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Care Partners Hospice in Asheville.
Deborah was born in Washington D.C. on February 23, 1944, to the late Martha and Milton Stein. She attended Franklin College where she earned a B.A. degree in English. Deborah dedicated many years of service to the United States Government. In addition to baking and shopping, she enjoyed volunteering at the Rathbun House and Vance Elementary School. Most of all, Deborah enjoyed spoiling her two granddaughters, whom she loved dearly. She will always be loved and remembered by her family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Matthew Leggat and wife Sarah of Asheville and Jeremy Leggat of Tempe, Arizona; a sister, Anita Balogh and husband Zolt of Richfield, Ohio; two granddaughters, Ruby and Nora Leggat; two nieces, Anne Lausser and husband Sasha of Columbus, Ohio and Jenna Linhart and husband Kyle of Frostburg, Maryland.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Jubilee Community Church, 46 Wall Street, Asheville, North Carolina 28801.
