Asheville - Doris Harron Truluck, age 89, of Asheville, passed away peacefully Friday, January 26, 2018, at The Laurels of Hendersonville.
She was born Doris Marie Harron April 19, 1928, in Weaverville, NC, the daughter of the late Eva Horton Harron and the late James Gaston Harron, Sr.
Doris was a fabulous cook, an excellent pianist, a model and a manager at Lillie Rubin. She enjoyed gardening and had many beautiful flowers throughout her yard. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Asheville, NC. Her love, sense of humor and dedication to her family was obvious to all who knew her and she will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three sons Patrick Truluck and wife, Carla, (Charlotte, NC); Peter Truluck, (Jessup, GA); Scott Young (New Orleans, LA); grandchildren Adam Young and Kaitlin Truluck; sister Virginia Roberts and husband, Rodney, (Asheville, NC); brothers James (Hoyt) Harron and wife, Doris, (Pisgah Forest); Dwight Harron, wife, Lucy, (Weaverville, NC); Vaughn (Jack) Harron, wife, Iva, (Brevard, NC) and many nieces and nephews.
The memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, February 1, 2018, at First Presbyterian Church in Asheville in the Campbell Chapel. Rev. Michael Poulos will officiate.
The family will receive friends immediately following in the church fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Presbyterian Home for Children, 80 Lake Eden Road, Black Mountain, NC 28711 or one's favorite charity.
The family would like to sincerely thank all of the caregivers who assisted and provided compassionate loving care for Doris.
