Edward "Ed" Amos Wilson, Jr., 82, of Spring Creek, Hot Springs passed away on December 27, 2018 at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. He was born in Tacoma Park, Maryland on April 28, 1936 to Edward Amos Wilson, Sr. and Lotty Viola Millard Wilson. Ed's wife of 26 years, Mabel Patricia Wilson, died four days later on December 31, 2018. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Herman David Wilson.
Ed attended Washington Adventist University and served in the U.S. Army. He worked as an electronics technician and attended the Waynesville Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Ed volunteered at the Spring Creek, NC Fire Department. He was a vocalist in the choir and performed as a soloist. Ed enjoyed drag racing and custom car building.
Ed is survived by his brother, Charles Millard Wilson, Sr. (Lois Peters Wilson) of Spring Creek, NC; sister, Catherine Marie Wilson of Candler, NC; several step-grandchildren; stepson, Rodney Preissler (Christine) of Maryland; stepdaughter, Lisa of Maryland; nephews, Kenneth Arthur Wilson (Arlene Whisnant Wilson) of Candler, NC and Lawrence Edward Wilson of Spring Creek, NC; niece, Rosalie Wilson von Henner (Chancellor von Henner) of Candler, NC. A service will be announced at a later date.
