Florence Lorine Gibson

Flo , as she was known by all who knew and loved her, passed away peacefully at the John F. Keever Solace Hospice in Asheville after an extended illness. She was 62.

Flo worked until her retirement for the State of Georgia Dept. of Transportation.  She was beloved by all she worked with and gave 100% to both her job and the residents of Georgia that she served.  She retired to the family home and lived out her days with her volunteer work, crocheting, editing manuscripts and playing mom to her beloved cats.  

There was not a soul who met her who didn’t come away feeling better for the privilege.  Her heart was as big as could be and her love for those in her life was real and steadfast.

She was born in West Palm Beach Florida, daughter of Waldo & Lorine “Renee” Gibson, both of Franklin and both of whom predecease her.

She is survived by her sister Jenny Scott (Brad); niece, Megan; nephew, Jack; her brother Waldo Gibson Jr. (Ira Stier); her sisters, Kathy Gestar (Ed) and Paula MacKenzie; her uncle Ted Brown Jr. (Anne); and her beloved “Brown” cousins.  

Memorial Donations to Solace Hospice (John F. Keever Jr. Solace Center, 21 Belvedere Road, Ashville, NC 28803) in her name would be appreciated.
