Floyd Douglas 'Doug' Bray, 66, of Asheville passed away in his sleep on July 22, 2018 at his home. He was born on June 14, 1952 to Frank Olus Bray and Dorothy Ella Huntsinger Bray in Asheville, North Carolina. In addition to his parents, Doug is preceded in death by his wife, Donna Lee Campbell; half-brother, Delmar Lyle Bray, half-brother, Alfred Eugene Huntsinger and half-sister, Nona Eileen Ford.
He earned a Diploma inTransportation Management, also a Certificate in Intermediate Computer and in Lotus 1, 2 & 3.
Doug worked as a cross-country truck driver and was a Baptist. He enjoyed camping with his children, grandchildren, and best friend Ralph. Doug loved his career as a truck driver and was very good at it.
Doug was the family communicator, checked on everyone, was always ready and willing to help in any situation. He loved his children dearly and was always there for them. Doug was a good friend and will be missed.
He is survived by his son, Charlie Douglas Bray (Kerra); daughter, Devon Laura Hoffman (Tommy); step-daughter, Lisa Campbell; stepson, Chris Campbell; half-sister, Joy Clay (Alan) of Buford, GA; sister, Marie Heller (Bill) of Rock Hill, SC; sister, Faye Wilma Phillips of Swannanoa, NC; brother, Frank Wilburn Bray of Marion, NC; step-sister, Nona Louise Sharpe (Steve) of Asheville, NC; step-sister, Susan Mancini (Dan) of Spring Hill, FL; grandchildren, Jacob, Jonnie, Jared, Clayton, Melissa, Harley, David, Chris, Genniviv, Alyssandra, Ashley, Kristy, Kaitlyn and Adam; great-grandchild, Raelyn; and thirteen nieces and nephews.
Doug will be buried at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Catholic Charities Diocese of Charlotte Burial Assistance Program, 50 Orange Street Asheville, NC 28801.
