George Anthony Entwisle, 72, passed away on September 9, 2017 at the Highlands Cashiers Hospital after a 9 plus year battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. He was a resident of Cashiers for 30 years. George was born on November 11, 1944 to Mary Inez Oliver Entwisle and James Jefferies Entwisle Sr. in San Diego, CA.

He is survived by Aleta O. Entwisle, his loving wife of 35 years; his sons Khristofer A. Entwisle, Michael V. O’Connor, and Stephen T. O’Connor; sisters Katherine Entwisle-Sherer of St. George, UT and Mae Strassburger of Playa Vista, CA; and grandson Finn Patrick O’Connor of Anaheim Hills, CA.

George graduated from the University of Southern California with a BA degree after serving in the U.S. Army. He and his wife later owned and operated Cashiers Dry Cleaners for 24 years. George loved golf, tennis, scuba diving and houseboating on Lake Hartwell, SC.
