Gerardo Rueda

Gerardo Rueda, 85, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at Care Partners Solace in Asheville. Gerardo was born in Veracruz, Mexico on April 25,, 1933 to Rodolfo and Josefina Rueda. He graduated from Heroica Escuela Naval Militar and served proudly in the Navy of Mexico. He also worked for the power company in Mexico (CFE). Gerardo attended Iglesia Casa del Alfarero in Asheville. Gerardo will be missed by all that had the privilege of knowing him. He was the patriarch of his family and his absence will be carried in their hearts forever.

In addition to his parents, Gerardo is preceded in death by his brothers, Ernesto Rueda and Angel Rueda.

Left to cherish his memory, is his wife of 60 years, Olga Rueda; daughters Olga (Raymundo) Gonzalez of Candler, NC; Liliana (Michael) Lane of Candler, NC; son Gerardo (Cleo) Rueda of Guerrero, Mexcio; daughter-in-law Hortensia Odell of Asheville, NC; grandchildren Raymundo Gonzalez, Olga Gonzalez, Gerardo Rueda, Andrea (Jeff) Smith, Leslie Rueda, Trinity Lane, Levi Lane, Laisha Rueda and great granddaughter, Ariana King. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and relatives in Mexico.

Services will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 7:00 PM at Iglesia Casa del Alfarero with Pastor Raymundo Gonzalez officiating and Remi Carrillo providing translation.
