Harold Conley Boyd, 84, of Etowah/Mills River, NC passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 at Veterans Medical-Valor Hospice. Mr. Boyd was born on October 2, 1932 in Buncombe, NC to the late Conley F. Boyd and Violet Pounders Boyd. He served in the US Army and fought in the Korean war. He retired from Asheville Regional Airport as director of maintenance. He was a member of Mills River United Methodist Church. Mr. Boyd was also a member and past master of Biltmore Masonic Lodge #446 and an Oasis Shriner. Harold Boyd is preceded in death by his brother, Morris; survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Brown Boyd; son, Timothy; daughter, Sara (Gene); grandsons, Seth (Anna), Lane Grant; brothers, Glen (Ethel), Charles (Pat), Lyle (Juanita); sister, Janet Webb; and several nieces and nephews. The memorial will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 25, 2017 at Mills River United Methodist Church, 137 Old Turnpike Road, Mills River, NC 28759 with visitation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mills River United Methodist Church.
