Harold David Sexton

Harold David Sexton 82 of Leicester, NC went to Heaven on September 14, 2018 at Carolina Pines Rest Home (formerly Ashland Ridge Rest Home).  He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Rosa Lee Sexton of Leicester, NC his son, Kenyon Lee Sexton of Leicester, NC his daughters Angela Sexton Saine (Frank) of Leicester, NC and Tina Sexton Lawing of Swannanoa, NC. Grandsons, Marshall Lawing (Christine) of Lake Toxaway, NC and Joshua Lawing of Swannanoa, NC. Granddaughters, Alyssa Saine Lowe (Joshua) of York, SC, Emily Saine of Greensboro, NC and Shaina Lawing Core (Dennis) of Swannanoa, NC. Great grandsons Lennon and Liam Lawing, Jack Lowe and Oliver Core. Great Granddaughters, Selene Lawing, Kiaria Lawing, Layla Core and Evyn Core.  Brother James Sexton (Betty) of Weaverville, NC and sister Linda Ashe of Charleston, SC.

Preceded in death by father James Harrison Sexton, mother Lula Angie Gillespie Sexton, brothers Paul and John Sexton, sisters Inez Beck, Beulah King, Irene Crownover and Patsy Pafford, Son-in-Law Jeffrey Lawing.

Harold retired from Square D where he worked in maintenance and as an assembler.  He loved to bake and was famous for his pound cakes and pumpkin bread.  A few of his favorite things were listening to gospel music, watching old westerns and attending church.  His favorite thing in life was his family. He especially loved visits from his grandchildren and great grandchildren; it put a smile on his face every time he saw them.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Cedar Hill Free Will Baptist Church at 227 Johnston Blvd, Asheville, NC 28806 and will be conducted by Rev. Roger Boone and Rev. Bud Fish. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm and the service will start at 2:00 pm.  The burial will be at the church cemetery following the service.

A special thanks to the management and staff of Carolina Pines who cared for Harold during the last year of his life with such love and compassion, his Hospice nurses Kelly and Courtney, as well as his loving pastor and wife Roger and Diane Boone.
