Irene Marie (Dufresne) Cahoon

Irene M. Cahoon was welcomed into the arms of her heavenly father on May 29, 2018 at Transylvania Regional Hospital after a long illness. She was born on February 27, 1924 in New Bedford, MA. She was survived by her son, Michael Moniz; her daughter, Darlene Tipton and son-in-law Stanley Tipton; her four grandchildren, Nathan Corn, daughter-in-law Chasity Corn, Kirt Moniz, Charles Moniz and Lois Moniz Armentrout; her nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and her sister, Janice Moore.

Preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Cahoon; her son, Charles Moniz; her two brothers, Peter and Armand Dufresne; and her mother and father, Peter and Ella Dufresne.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Brevard and the VFW Post 4309 of Brevard.

The graveside service for family and friends is pending at a later date.
