James Frank Jackson, Sr., 79, of Leicester, North Carolina, passed away Monday, July 29, 2019, at Mission St. Joseph’s Hospital in Asheville.

James was born in Buncombe County, North Carolina on November 23, 1939, to the late Raymond F. Jackson and Ruby Rose Taylor Jackson. He was married to the late Edith Leona Huntsman Jackson. James was a Seventh Day Adventist and worked for Buncombe Construction, with whom he retired after forty-five years of dedicated service. He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed watching NFL football on TV. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Michael Jackson; and a sister, Billie Ray Gentry.

Survivors include two sons, James Frank Jackson, Jr. and Randal Bruce Jackson; two sisters, Rose Mary Jackson Ringgold and Jane Jackson Boyd; and three grandsons, Jason Matthew Jackson, Justin Nathaniel Jackson, and Jonathan Moses Jackson.
