James Richards Obituary

James “Jim” Donald Richards, 67, of Asheville, North Carolina, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at his residence.

Jim was born in Denver, Colorado on October 27, 1951, to the late Donald Earl Richards and Vivian Jane Mercer Richards.  He grew up in California, graduating from Thousand Oaks High School and attended Moorpark College.  He soon moved to the Lake Tahoe region where he lived for many years working in construction as a builder and master craftsman, building many significant homes in the area.  He moved to Asheville, NC in 2012 where he worked at the Asheville Regional Airport for SP+ and LAZ Parking.  Throughout his life, Jim was an avid sportsman and a man who appreciated music, books, and nature.  He could often be seen on his porch waving to his friends and neighbors; he will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish his memory include three sisters, Joan, Virginia “Ginny”, and Catherine “Kitty” Richards (spouse, Chuck Logan) and a brother, Bob Richards (spouse, Joy Richards) ; nieces Sidney Vazquez, Bailey Richards, Riley Richards and Charlie Logan; and nephews Harrison Richards and Chris Logan.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to his coworkers at LAZ Parking.  On-line condolences may be shared with the family at:
