Jeffrey Scott Jones

Jeffrey Scott Jones, 68, went to his forever home on June 16, 2018, surrounded by his friends and family.

Jeffrey was born January 19, 1950 to Charles Alford Jones Sr. and Bertha Mae Gibson Jones. A native to Buncombe county, Jeff was a Native of Candler and graduated from Enka High School in 1970. He enjoyed mechanic work, particularly on small engines and his lawnmower, as well as cars. His greatest joy always remained to spend time with his friends a family.

He is preceded in death by both his parents, Charles and Bertha; his brother, Charles Alford (Boodle) Jones Jr; his little daughter and light of his life, Kimberly Ann; his nephews, Charles (Chuck) Jones and Hunter Earley; and his sister-in-law, Dawn.

Jeff worked as a professional finisher and mechanic, his employers including Champion Finishing, Burlington, APAC, Dynatex, and Asheville Waste Paper.

He is survived by Raymond and Leesa Jones of Asheville, Edwin (Snuffy) Jones, Debbie and Henry Reece of Canton; his nieces and nephews, all of whom he treated like his own children, Jason, Kevin, Holly Arrington, Allen Reece and Melanie; his great nieces and nephews, Elijah Carl, Patrick Earley (Christian Brooks), Kimberly Marie, Bryan, Faith, Xyander Scott, Xavier Jones and Kaitlyn Pinkney; and his great-great nieces and nephews, Havannah, Bristol and Raymond Braylan Earley. His family was his heart and soul and Jeff loved them all endlessly.

The family would like to say thank you to all their friends and neighbors who have supported them through this time. A special mention to Howard and Rocky Case, as well as the Penny Center for their generosity. 

The family is lost without him. He was a constant light in their life, protecting them, and they all knew no matter what, Jeff had their back. He was a great brother, a loving uncle, and will be missed forever. 

A celebration of Jeff's life is to be held at Mt. Moriah Weslyn Church, 1 Fairmont Rd, Candler, NC. 3:00, on June 30, 2018.
