Jeremy Roger Hughes, 75, passed away at the Elizabeth House in Hendersonville, NC on June 10, 2017. He was born on August 1, 1941 in Sao Paulo, Brazil to the late Sylvia Migon and Arthur Hughes.

A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, Jeremy Hughes lived a meaningful life marked by professional achievement as an advertising executive in his native country of Brazil; marital bliss with his childhood soul mate, Valerie; the joy of having two wonderful daughters, Patricia and Joanne, and grandchildren, Alan, Santiago, and Lauren, all of whom deeply loved him. Jeremy spent part of his childhood at a boarding school in Bolton, near Manchester, England - the birthplace of his father, and returned to Brazil where he had fruitful careers at J.W. Thompson, De Beers Diamond Company, and more recently, his desire to help others led him to become a caregiver.

Jeremy lived life to the fullest, played rugby in school, traveled to different countries, and enjoyed watching his other favorite sports on TV: soccer, rugby, and car racing. He had a passionate outlook on life, and deep love for his family, friends, and faith. Jeremy took delight in cruising in the Caribbean, dancing with his wife, counseling his daughter and grandchildren, and being a loyal friend. With a witty personality, he made everyone laugh and enjoy his presence. That's what he was, a loving soul who cherished and appreciated life until the very end. Jeremy is preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia and two brothers, Gerald and Peter.

Services will be held in his honor on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home 72 Long Shoals Road Arden, NC 28704.
