CANDLER, NC:   Leila G. Saylors, age 56 and formerly of Orlando, Florida passed away peacefully after an extended illness on Saturday evening July 14, 2018 with her family by her side.  Leila was born on Friday, September 15, 1961 in Orlando, FL. to the late Robert and Evelyn (Walker) Gould.

As the former Leila Catherine Gould in Orlando she married her loving husband of 33 years, James “Jim” M. Saylors who survives along with her three devoted children, Katie (Aaron) Richard, Leila (Ben Long) Saylors and Jason Gould all who reside in Asheville.  She also leaves behind her four charming grandchildren, Isabella, Gavin, Luca and Asher; a sister, Mary Elizabeth (Kenneth) Mealey of Orlando, FL.

Leila was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and a faithful member of the Baptist Church where she was a member for many years at Pole Creek Baptist Church in Candler.  She was a talented gardener and carpenter and was completely devoted to her passion for excellence in all that she ever did.

Funeral services for Mrs. Saylors will be celebrated, 1:00 pm Friday, July 20, 2018 with Pastor Dennis L. Thurman officiating at Pole Creek Baptist Church, 96 Snow Hill Church Road Candler, NC 28715.  Graveside services will follow in the church cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the angels and doctors at Solace Center for their exceptional love and devotion to Leila's care in the last few weeks of her life.

Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mrs. Saylors to Solace Center, 21 Belvedere Road Asheville, NC 28803 or to Pole Creek Baptist Church.

God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around you, and whispered “COME TO ME.”  With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away.  Although we loved you dearly.  We could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating.  Hardworking hands at rest.  God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

Leila will be deeply missed by her loving and devoted husband, family and many dear friends.  May God grant her eternal rest.
