Lillie Ann Pruitt Gray, 75, although she would attest that she was only 17, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at the Elizabeth House in Hendersonville.
Mrs. Gray was born in Hendersonville, North Carolina on November 21, 1942, to the late Carl and Dora Ann Collins Pruitt. She was married to the late James Gray. She was a member of the Full Gospel Church in Brevard. She enjoyed plastic canvas and loved spending time with her family. She was especially fond of children. Mrs. Gray was known for her sense of humor. When greeting others, she was known to respond with, “I’m fat and sassy!” She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her twin daughters, Kay and Mae Gray; a daughter, Ginger Gray; a brother, Charles Pruitt; and two sisters, Clara Mae Pruitt Hill and Edna Pruitt Cox Allison, who passed away Tuesday, May 22nd.
She is survived by a son, Jim “Kirk” Gray and wife Robin of Blaine, Washington; two daughters, Dora Gray Dorn and husband John and Deirdre Gray Stepp and husband Jason; a son Dennis Cantrell; two brothers, Clyde Pruitt and wife Janie and Eugene Pruitt; a sister, Geneva Pruitt Blackwell and husband Boyce, all of Hendersonville; eight grandchildren, Josh, Kara, and Kelsey Gray; Dallas and Dakota Cantrell; Austin, Kade, and Memphis Stepp; three great grandchildren, Destany, Elijah, and Aiden Gray; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Shaws Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Hendersonville with Rev. Larry Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the Church.
