Louis Tilton Batson

Louis T. Batson, III, died Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at his home in Highlands, NC.  Mr. Batson was a native of Greenville, SC, was involved in Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, USA for over 25 years as a leader, was a 3 Palm Eagle Scout and the recipient of the Silver Beaver award. He was a veteran of WWII, a graduate of Georgia School of Technology and obtained a law degree from John Marshal School of Law. He coached baseball and football at Murphy Candler Park for a number of years and loved playing golf. After 32 years at Lockheed Georgia Company, in Marietta, he retired.

 He is predeceased by his first wife of 53 years, Joanne D. Batson, and grandson, John Patrick. He is survived by his 2nd wife of 18 years, Cindy Batson, Highlands, NC. Daughter, Nina Batson Fort(Dan), Tybee Island; Sons, Louis T. Batson, IV(Jan), Social Circle, John C. D. Batson(Cathy), Cumming, Darryl C. Batson(Allison), Lilburn, 15 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Oglethorpe Presbyterian in Brookhaven, November 25. Visitation at 2, with the service to follow.
