Margaret Baker Obituary

Margaret V. Baker, 95, of Waynesville, North Carolina, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019, at Maggie Valley Nursing and Rehab.

Margaret was born in Wilmington, North Carolina, on January 21, 1924, to the late William and Hester Ganous. She was an LPN for well over 20 years at Broward Memorial Hospital in Hollywood, Florida. Margaret enjoyed traveling and was a member of Woodland Baptist Church in Waynesville. She volunteered her time with the clothing department of Christian Ministries in Waynesville. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, JoAnne Elizabeth Baker; two sisters, Alma Lee Ganous and Arbutus Hazel Ganous; and a brother, Riley William Ganous.

Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Charles E. Baker of Waynesville; a grandson, Charles E. Baker, II; two great grandchildren; and two nieces, Betty Jean Lewis and Vicki Fiscus.

In accordance with Margaret’s wishes, no services will be conducted.
