Mary Castillo

     Mary Castillo left our world to walk with the Lord early in the morning of September 29, 2018.

     She was born June 7, 1935, in the small village of Colon outside of Cuba. She moved to New York and met her loving husband Tom.  Together they spent many years in Florida and they had 5 children whom she loved and lived for, sharing her love of life and gift of making a friend in everyone she met. She is known for her gift of growing plants, cooking, crochet, love of roses, strong will, and love of her family. She will be carried in memory in our hearts and missed each day.

     She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Castillo, sons Thomas Castillo Jr. and David Castillo. 

     She is survived by her loving family, daughter Rose and husband Don Cummings, daughter Robin Castillo, son Scott Castillo, granddaughter Kristen Cummings, great grandson Orion Thomas Cummings. She was a grandmother to David Castillo Jr. and Christopher Castillo, Heather Innusa, Beth Castillo. Also, Great grandmother to Paige Castillo.  Aunt to Dennis Jimenez, Jesus Jimenez, and Charlie Jimenez and their children. Mother in law to Marsha Castillo and Terry Monroe.

     A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 14, 2018, at Sunset Gatherings, 108 Sunset Lane, Burnsville, NC 28714. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., prior to the service. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.ashevillemortuaryservices.com
