Matthew Hazelton Obituary

Matthew David Hazelton, 40, passed away on June 16, 2018, at his home on 71 Cocoa Lab Lane in Weaverville, North Carolina.

Matthew was born in Bradenton, Florida on March 1, 1978, to Terry Raymond Hazelton and Elissa Dougherty, both of whom live in Burnsville, North Carolina.

He was employed by the Madison County government in their I.T department. When not working, Matthew enjoyed life to its fullest. His greatest hobbies included cooking, building furniture, and exploring the local woods for wild edibles and medicinal herbs. Above all else, he loved his church and his family.

Matthew is survived by his wife of three years, Elny Avila Hazelton; his daughter, Desiree Rose Hazelton, of Mars Hill; his brother Mark D. Hazelton and wife Jessica of Burnsville; and his sister, Kate E. Rousseau and husband Scott of North Augusta, South Carolina. He was a loyal friend and brother and will be missed eternally by all those in his life.

A service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, July 14th, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at 40 Brookdale Rd Woodfin, North Carolina. Keith Lindberg will be officiating.

“And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Rev. 21: 4
