Michael Lynn “Mike” Mitchell, 49, of Asheville, passed away Friday, April 12, 2019, at his residence.

Mike was born in Asheville, NC on June 4, 1969, to Susan Mitchell. He attended Asheville High School and was an auto mechanic. He drove and dispatched for Red Cab and Blue Bird cab companies for many years. Mike will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his Grandma, Rose Mitchell.

Survivors include his mother, Susan Mitchell of Candler; a son, Michael Mitchell; three brothers, Eric, Corey, and Jason Mitchell; a sister, Melissa Mitchell, all of Asheville; five nieces; two great nieces; two great nephews; and many friends and family.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the Chapel of Penland Family Funeral Home in Swannanoa. Pastor Jeff Dowdy will officiate.
